Accessibility statement

Nappedia strives to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.

While we aim for full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, we recognize that accessibility is an ongoing effort. We are continuously reviewing and improving our site to ensure the best possible experience for all users.

Nappedia takes the following measures to ensure accessibility:

  Semantic HTML. We use proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, lists, and form labels throughout the site to support assistive technologies.

  Keyboard navigation. All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard. Focus states are visible and follow a logical tab order.

  Color contrast. Text and interactive elements meet WCAG 2.1 AA minimum contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).

  Alternative text. Images include descriptive alt text. Decorative images are marked appropriately so screen readers skip them.
• smartphone
  Responsive design. The site adapts to different screen sizes and supports text resizing up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
• navigation
  Clear navigation. Breadcrumbs, skip links, and consistent navigation patterns help users find content and understand their location on the site.
• label
  Form accessibility. All form inputs have associated labels, required fields are indicated, and error messages are descriptive and programmatically associated with their fields.
• link
  Descriptive links. Link text is meaningful and describes the destination or purpose. We avoid generic text such as "click here" or "read more."

Nappedia is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:

• Screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
• Screen magnification software
• Speech recognition software
• Keyboard-only navigation

The site is tested on recent versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. We use progressive enhancement to ensure core content is accessible even when JavaScript is unavailable or fails to load.

Despite our efforts, some areas of the site may not yet be fully accessible. Known limitations include:

• Third-party content: Some embedded content from third-party services may not fully meet accessibility standards. We work with these providers to improve compliance.
• Interactive quiz: The mattress quiz experience is keyboard accessible but may benefit from additional ARIA enhancements for complex interactions. This is an active area of improvement.
• Chatbot widget: The chatbot interface supports keyboard navigation but may have limited compatibility with some older screen readers.

We address these limitations on an ongoing basis as part of our regular development cycle.

This accessibility statement applies to the Nappedia website. We reference the following standards and guidelines:

• WCAG 2.1 — Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). We target Level AA conformance.
• Section 508 — Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, which requires federal agencies and their contractors to make electronic and information technology accessible. While Nappedia is not a federal entity, we use Section 508 as a benchmark.
• ADA — Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in places of public accommodation, including websites.
• EN 301 549 — European standard for digital accessibility, referenced for international compliance considerations.

We review this accessibility statement and our compliance status on a regular basis. Our review process includes:

• Automated testing using accessibility scanning tools during development
• Manual testing with keyboard navigation and screen readers
• Review of user-reported accessibility issues
• Periodic audit of new content and features before publication
