"Natural latex" is not a regulated label in the United States. A blend can contain as little as 10–20% natural rubber and still be marketed as "natural." Cooling & allergies

Two of the most-asked latex questions pull in opposite directions: it tends to sleep cooler than foam, but natural rubber carries an allergy consideration that foam does not. Evaluate them separately.

Is a latex mattress worth the higher price?
It can be, if the latex is genuinely high natural-rubber content. Spread over a long lifespan, a quality all-natural latex bed can cost less per year than foam or innerspring beds that are replaced more often. The value case weakens for blended or synthetic latex sold at a premium, so verify composition before paying for "latex."
Should I get Dunlop or Talalay?
Neither is universally better. Dunlop is denser, often firmer, lower cost, and the form most organic-certified latex takes, which suits support cores and firmer feels. Talalay is lighter, more uniform, and slightly more breathable, which suits comfort layers and lighter sleepers. The same ILD number feels different between them, so use a trial or return window.
Does latex sleep cool?
Natural latex sleeps cooler than conventional, non-gel memory foam because of its open cells and pincore airflow, and because it does not soften into a warm pocket. The cover matters as much as the latex, though: a thick polyester cover can cancel the benefit, while cotton or wool helps.
